I know, maybe the title is a bit of a stretch, but hear me out, I’ve got this, after lots and lots of years of struggle, I finally got it.
If you know and practice this idea, I bet my life on it that you will make money from your passion, from the thing that you love doing.
But first, I feel obliged to explain this:
Why making money out of your passion is super-important?
This is for the ones that are not convinced yet that they need money to survive.
Most artists live day by day, waiting for a miracle to happen, and money to arrive in their life in some magical, mystical form.
I know that because part of me is an artist, and I’ve lived most of my life in that mental space.
For the past five years, I’ve been writing article and books.
This is my passion. I could do this for free, and if money weren’t necessary for day to day living, I would do it for free.
But living in a capitalist system (and I think you also do) I need money for food and shelter. I want money to travel and see the world.
It’s a need and wants a relationship with money.
And it’s super important to make money from what I love.
It’s that sweet spot that everyone dreams about.
It’s a perfect life that we all want. Right? (Hope you said right on this one. Otherwise, this article is not for you, haha).
Do I suck at what I am doing?
And after struggling as a young artist, trying to take over the world with my writing, I got to a point where this crazy thought passed thru my mind, and I asked my self:
Do I suck at writing? Am I this bad?
And then doubt started to creep in.
I felt like a fraud. Like my passion was not good enough for the world. Like nobody cared. Like nobody paid attention to what I was saying.
I was this guy in Time Square who was screaming his lungs out, and nobody even heard him.
That is what it felt like.
And it was painful. And I bet you felt this in some point of your evolution.
But feeling stuck let me to a discovery. Let me share this with you.
Why Context is everything?
This smarter german guy got it a long time ago before I was even born, and he told the world this: “Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.”
But I would take it even further and tell you that context is king.
Because if you have a passion, something that is burning inside you and you want to make it alive, to share it with the world, and you put it in the wrong context, you will get crushed and disappointed.
Think of your passion like Parmesan Cheese.
Your passion is this fantastic cheese made in Italy, called Parmigiano Reggiano.
You take this fantastic cheese and put it in Coffee. And it sucks. The coffee is no good.
After that, you take it and put it over some bananas. It tastes horrible.
Then, you take it and put it in fruit would. It’s disgusting.
What does this mean? That your Parmigiano Reggiano sucks? Or that context is king?
And when you discover this and start to grade fresh Parmesan Cheese over pasta, salads, and risotto, you get to understand that you matter into this world.
And your passion has a place here on Earth.
You need to take time and find the right context for your passion.
Context is what makes and breaks your passion.
And when you hit that context, money also starts to come into your life like a never-ending flow, and you keep asking yourself where it has been hidden all this time? Haha!
Years later, after I’ve discovered this idea.
Years later, after discovering this idea, my life changed completely.
I put my passions, my unique ingredients, into the right contexts.
And now, because I got the context right, everything aligns.
I don’t want this to sound like a brag, but I am doing very good for myself. I am making lots and lots of money from my passion.
And that is the most important thing on earth for me. To make money, and also be happy while doing it, without ever lying to myself for even a second.
Your passion is like Parmesan Cheese. If you grate it over a smoothie, you will think you suck, if you grate it over pasta, you will understand how awesome you indeed are.
You need to invest, do, act, make things happen, and find the right context for your passion.
That’s all folks. That’s the secret.
As I like to say, the most important thing you need to know to make lots and lots of money from your passion.
🙂
