We are going to go out on a limb here and assume that, at least once in your life, you’ve wondered what’s the real difference between successful people and ones who are not.
So what’s the big secret?
We are all told they work harder than the rest.
They are the first to come to work and the last to leave.
They read a lot, have a diary, take cold showers, run every morning at 5 AM or drink the same coffee before each meeting.
But the coffee or a shower is not going to make that difference, right?
You might have even tried some of those so-called successful habits, and they didn’t give you that feeling of extreme empowerment, motivation or excitement you were going for.
So here’s the catch.
Are you ready?
SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE WORK HARD, EVEN IF THEY DON’T FEEL LIKE IT.
A lot of times people would wait for the perfect moment, that peak of motivation or excitement to start a business, new project or a new healthy habit.
And that’s understanding given the fact that the thing driving all our actions is our motivation to do them in the first place.
But the funny thing about our motivation is that it comes from action, it’s not the other way around.
That feeling of accomplishment is making us want more.
Reaching a goal always creates a new one.
On the other hand, never starting the journey to that goal, diminishes our desires and hunger for it.
So how to get moving when you don’t feel like it?
Figure out your WHY.
Here’s what we mean by this.
Setting a goal that is going to get you where everything and everyone around you thinks you should be is probably not a thing that will make you want to go for it.
Rather, setting a goal that’s so big that it even scares you a bit, but at the same time, gives you that feeling that you HAVE TO have it, is actually going to kick you in the butt in the right direction.
Figuring out why something is important to you is going to create compelling reasons that will push you through those boring, tiresome and monotonous moments.
For each one of us, those reasons are different.
And whether you’ll do something because you want your children to have a good life, or you want to make a difference in your community, or you want to help people around you or break the record and be the best, or feel absolute power and energy, it’s crucial to understand your reasons.
Here are five powerful questions that could help you find your compelling reasons and become unstoppable.
Why is this important to me?
What will I gain if I achieve this?
What will this mean for my family and those I care about?
What would be possible for me if I do this now?
How would my life look like then?
Write these answers down to always remember them and go back in a time of doubt.
And remember, there are going to be all kinds of awesome and exciting and hard or boring moments in your life.
But only you decide what’s going to push you through them all.
